Dhoni-Feels good that i am punching bag

MS DHONI-I feel good that I'm the punching bag because there's less pressure on the team.

A captain faces a lot criticism when his team goes through a prolonged lean patch but India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni does not mind becoming a "punching bag" if it saves the other players from pressure.

India have been going through a bad phase since last year and the effectiveness of Dhoni's leadership has been questioned quite often in the recent times.
However, Dhoni says he is okay with all the criticism, thrown at him in this crisis hour for the side.
"I accept whatever comes to me. I feel good that I'm the punching bag because there's less pressure on the team. You need to have a few punching bags in the side. Sachin has been there for quite some time now, he takes away all the tension. I don't think everybody gets chance to be the punching bag, so I am happy that I can take a bit of tension for my team," Dhoni said after India lost first ODI to Pakistan.
Dhoni said things went wrong for India right from the start when it lost the toss under overcast conditions and credited Pakistan pacers Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan for exploiting the conditions.
"I think it was the toss to start of with. After that they bowled well. When the ball is seaming or swinging, if you pitch it in the right area it works. If you see their bowlers, they bowled really well.
"They bowled up which was good because generally on these kind of wickets there will be temptation to bowl short because there will be bounce and carry. But they made sure they bowled up and put the batsmen in trouble," Dhoni said.
Dhoni saved India from blushes with a great knock of 113 under pressure as the team was struggling at 29 for five. But Dhoni said he would prefer his top-order to perform than getting an opportunity to score a hundred like this.
"It's not like I have got plenty of centuries to choose from. So all of them are very special for me. Going down the order, batting at six or seven, and if you get a 100... actually you don’t want an opportunity like that because you want your top order to perform.
"But overall quite happy that I got a century. It looked very unlikely, at certain point of time. It was important that we kept going so that we reach a respectable score. So that was something in mind and not about how much runs I got."

You guys can leave your comment below in comment box about what you feel on his saying ?Is he the punching bag always?

Sidhu urges folks to get off Dhoni's back

Former India opener Navjot Singh Sidhu feels the team should be judged on its merit and the captain should not be held responsible for the crisis.
Dhoni has been in the firing line for some time now and it has only worsened with India's performance in the series againstEngland.
"Dhoni, as the captain of the Test team, brought you the No. 1 Test rankings. There are several (great) players who are not there. There is no Kumble, bring him to the side and you will win the series," Sidhu told Mail Today
"So will you judge Dhoni by the resources he has or will you judge Dhoni because he is losing now? Take away the cause, the effect will cease. I know the value of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He does not have to prove anything. He is once in a generation cricketer, learn to respect him. Don't insult him."
He said things could've been different had India made opportunities count. "Dhoni and Virat Kohli batted brilliantly and mentally the England team was down. But
they could not finish it. Suddenly you have given it away on a platter in 30 minutes," he said about India's collapse on Day 3.
Sidhu believes England came better prepared for the series and grew in confidence as it progressed.

"They came prepared. Look at the record of (James) Anderson in the sub-continent before this tour. It was appalling. But look at his record this time. It is because he has realised he will not get the natural swing here that happens in England. It is going to be the speed and reverse swing here. And see how he has impacted the series," he said.

"But England never had the belief, otherwise why would they not play (Monty) Panesar in the first match? It was the partnership between Cook and Pietersen in Mumbai that gave them the belief."

Dhoni says-refused to quit captaincy

December 9, 20121:30 p.m.

Dhoni says he will not quit captaincy, will not run away from responsibilities.

Embarrassed and dejected after being outplayed for the second successive time by England, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni  held his batsmen responsible for the debacle, saying that they failed to convert starts into substantial innings.
"We need to give bowlers a few more runs. We haven't scored consistently over 300. On this wicket we should have scored 450 or above. The batsmen who got starts didn't make it matter," a livid Dhoni said at post-match presentation ceremony.
"In the second innings, it was like a landslide we couldn't stop," he added referring to the collapse that saw the team fold up for 247, leaving England with a victory target of just 41 runs.
Dhoni, however, tried to put up a brave face by stating that the team would make a strong comeback in the fourth Test in Nagpur.
"We have everything to play for in Nagpur. Everybody needs to pull up their socks. Of course the better team won here. They bowled in the right areas they fielded well... They played well but we need to retaliate," he said.
Despite two successive humiliating defeats on home soil, underfire skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday refused to step down from captaincy, saying it was not the right time to run away but take responsibility and turn the team's fortunes.
"The easiest thing for me to say right now is to say, 'I quit captaincy' and be a part of the side. But that's like running away from the responsibility," he said after India were handed a seven-wicket defeat by England at the Eden Gardens today to trail the four-match series 1-2.
"Of course there are others who will decide. There is BCCI and the administrative people who also want to look into that", Dhoni said at the post-match press conference.
Dhoni, whose Test form has also come under the scanner, said it was his responsibility to get the team together and prepare for the next match.
"For me, my responsibility is to get the team together and be prepared for the next Test match. This is where experience will count. You have got the right mix of experienced and fresh guys", he pointed out.
"As a leader, this is a challenge that has been thrown up to me or towards me. It's always good to lead a side when everybody is doing well. That's a time when you don't need a leader. Leading a side is when the team is not doing well.
"You would try to gel the team well and back the senior guys and try to move in the right direction."
Asked whether he's still the best person to lead the Test side, he said "the selectors are there to decide."
The back-to-back defeats came in the aftermath of India's eight successive away defeats in England and Australia in 2011, which Dhoni described as the lowest phase of his career.
"I think England, Australia series were the lowest part. Because we were not really able to compete. We know what the faults are over here and we should be able to rectify those," he said.
The series of embarrassing defeats have come incidentally afer Duncan Fletcher took the coaching job before the England away series as India slipped from No 1 to No 5.
But Dhoni said it's not the time to play the blame game.
"It's wrong to question the coach. We have won quite a few series. The ODIs performance has been really good, in between we've won a Test series," he explained.
"Yes, we have struggled in Australia and England series and this is a series we've not done well and lost two matches. We should not really look for execuses and play the blame game, putting it on the coach. Ultimately, it's the 11 players who turn up on the field."
Dhoni said Fletcher has got excellent technical knowledge and has guided the players in the right direction.
"He has been doing what the coaches do. He has got excellent technical knowledge about batting. He guides the players in the right direction," he said.
"But ultimately once you cross the rope, you're on your own. That's the time when you've to get up and retaliate to the opposition, that's where we're lacking as of now," he added.

Facebook asks users to vote

Facebook asks you to handle your own safety.

December 7, 20122:00 a.m.

Facebook ask users to caste votes

You would have survived the presidential elections ,but this time  as citizens of Facebook, you are being asked to cast another ballot.

Facebook users have been getting emails asking them to vote on "global site governance." It sounds complicated but it really just means that Facebook is proposing changes to how it handles your personal information.

Why Facebook is asking you to vote

Facebook opened the polls on Monday for its 1 billion plus users to vote on proposed changes to its policies.  Facebook rolled out the voting system in 2009 to give users a voice in how it handles their personal information to quiet a noisy grass-roots protest over changes it had made to its terms of service. But Facebook says the voting system has not worked as intended and isn’t appropriate now that it’s a publicly traded company subject to oversight by regulators around the world. Facebook is proposing to keep users informed on policy changes with webcasts on privacy rather than giving users the right to vote on policy changes. As of noon Wednesday, about 300,000 people had voted. The vast majority are not in favor of Facebook’s proposals.

Where's the polling booth?

Go to this page. There, you are presented with two sets of  policy documents, one that governs how Facebook currently handles your information and one that explains how it would like to handle your information in the future. The document is called the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. The acronym is SRR. Facebook also wants to make changes to its Data Use Policy.
So you have to choose between Proposed documents and existing documents.

How to vote, step by step

  • Go to the "about the vote" page.

  • Click the green “vote” button.

  • This directs you on a page with links to Facebook’s proposals and to the existing documents.

It then asks you “Which documents should govern the Facebook site?”

Click next to your choice, either:

--Proposed documents: It would approve Facebook’s proposed changes.

Or

--Existing documents: It keeps the current policy and rejects Facebook’s proposed changes.

Then click the green “submit vote” button. You can only view the results after you caste your vote.
Voting  ends Dec. 10 . You can vote early, but you can’t vote often. Only one vote per account. But you can spread the word that you voted by clicking the “share with my friends” box below the green “submit vote” button.
What's your opinion. Either proposed changes or existing policies?Comment !

India V/S Pakistan-India won by 8 wickets

India-Pakistan ,always a nail-bitting match and a thriller to watch.

Keeping in with recent times, where India have tended to come out the mentally stronger side, Pakistan's batsmen tried too hard and imploded to waste a dream start and post the lowest total of the Super Eights. Virat Kohli, who had scored 183 in his previous match against Pakistan, then steered the chase of 129 with his eighth fifty-plus score in his last 11 international innings.India won by 8 wickets.

Dhoni: "The players looked relaxed, we knew there was something in store. It's good that Kohli is taking the responsibility, Viru batted well, we lost Gambhir early. I always felt that if you are desperate for a win you put more pressure on yourself. We didn't think too far ahead of ourselves. Thanks to the crowd for showing up."

Kohli, the Man of the Match: "The key is to stay as calm as possible. In the last game I thought a bit too much. The idea it to play 10-15 overs and the team benefits from it. It's a slow wicket but better under lights. God's been kind."

So an one-sided encounter ends the Sunday. In fact both games. Hoping for more competitive games tomorrow between Sri Lanka and England and New Zealand and West Indies.

Hafeez: "We just didn't get the partnerships. It was a difficult pitch to bat on but Kohli was excellent. We were hoping to get him out and put pressure on the rest but we couldn't do that. We need to improve our fielding. We still have a chance."

India V/S England T20 -India thrashed England

"It was an efficient performance," says MS Dhoni. "People might say we were slow for the first 15, but we were not over-aiming. We had five bowlers, we knew that. It was a difficult decision, but we requested the seniors to rest so that we could pick the best XI. And we opened with Irfan because he is a gutsy player. He may not look pretty, but he responds to the call. Now we have got a problem of plenty with spinners with both of them doing well today. About Rohit, it is important if guys are responding to give them a few extra games. Yes, we have got dififcult decisions to make. Not to forget that the players who missed out today have won a lot of games for India on their own."

Dhoni-Zaheer is Sachin of Indian Bowling

Zaheer Khan has been hailed as the Sachin Tendulkar of Indian bowling by MS Dhoni, seeks to rouse the confidence of his leading strike bowler in India's final Group A match against England today.

The match is meaningless in terms of qualification, with both sides through to the Super Eights, but it holds much significance for India as they look for the sort of improved form from Zaheer..

"If Zaheer is to mark his 34th birthday by playing in the final of World Twenty20, both he and India will need to discover better form."-Author  Rishab Sharma

"It is easier to go after a bowler," Dhoni said after a practice session at P Sara Stadium. "If you look at his performances he should get equal respect that Sachin gets. He is the Sachin for us when it comes to the bowling department.

"He has led out attack for the last few years; he has been our best bowler whatever the format. Maybe in the last few games he has not got the wickets whether it be Test cricket, ODIs or T20 formats."

Until Sri Lanka's pitches begin to tire, and become more conducive to turn, Zaheer's form leaves a flaky Indian bowling attack particularly vulnerable. In comparing him to Tendulkar, Dhoni has played his biggest card of all.

Zaheer is likely to play against England, and India are likely to retain their seven-batsmen balance, but there will be changes in personnel. L Balaji might be rested, as might R Ashwin, enabling Piyush Chawla and Ashok Dinda to advance their claims. But it is Zaheer whose performance will come under most scrutiny.

"We have a chance of giving Zaheer a few games because we are in that stage where we can look to do that," Dhoni said, "But other players who are part of the side we also want to give games to them so that in the knockout stage everybody has had a few games.

"We are looking to make a few changes to our playing X1 so that most of the players get at least one game before going into the next stage. Later on if we are looking to play with the fifth bowler we will be able to play the fifth bowler who suits the conditions the best.

"It may happen in this game but see how it goes in the coming game and then we will be in a better position to decide in the next stage whether we have to play with five bowlers or we can manage with four."
The warning to Zaheer was clear. "If you are playing with four bowlers and a part-timer, one of the bowlers can have an off-day at any time," Dhoni said. "But if one becomes two then there is considerable amount of pressure about how you will manage the resources. It is only a few games that we have in our hand. We hope being the experienced cricketer he is, he gets back and really works for us."

India win 1st T20 over Afghanistan

It was entertaining stuff from Afghanistan ,gave good challenge to India? If those catches had not been  dropped,if so many whites hadn't be bowled and so many misfields hadn't be done , Afghanistan may have grabbed  win over India.
                 Presentation Cermony:

MS Dhoni: "This format balances both teams, if one of the opposition batsman or bowler have a great day, it could change the result. A good performance but not a great performance from us. There are a lot of areas we have to improve on to be honest. People talk a lot about five bowlers, but what matters is on the day how they bowl, whether they are a part-timer or a specialist."

Virat Kohli: "Always good to get a start, good to start on a winning note. Always tough to play against a team with nothing to lose. They were in a situation where they could try a lot of things, we had to be more careful."

Nawroz Mangal: "It was a good game for the boys, we could have done better, shot selection was a bit poor, that was why we have lost the game. We could have done better in the field, but we are satisfied we restricted the mighty Indian batting to 160."

"I really appreciate Afghanistan team, the way they bowled today, but lacked in fielding efforts.Dropped chances and wide balls gave India extra advantage.Virat Kohli, the Run Machine did a great job.Dhoni took it well in the end.Last 6 was great.Mighty blow it was !
Isn't it.
Yuvraj was unable to show up with bat,but helped India with his bowling taking 3 wickets.
Now its England V/S India on sunday !
Get ready to watch the action ! Till then i take your leave."

India V/S Pakistan tomorrow

Tough Battle tomorrow

After defeating Sri Lanka ,  India would like to keep the winning momentum going when they take on  Pakistan in their second warm-up game  tomorrow.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni would want their batsman to come good against a superior Pakistani bowling unit to maintain a clean slate ahead of their World Twenty20 opener against Afghanistan on September 19.

Though, India won comfortably against the hosts in their opening warm-up game, they certainly need to put up a better show with the bat against Pakistan, who boast of quality bowlers like Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul in their ranks.

Injury to opener Gautam Gambhir, who hurt his wrist against Sri Lanka, would be a concern for the Indians but Virender Sehwag along with other top-order batsmen need to redeem themselves against Pakistan following their dismal show with the bat in the first match.

India would like Sehwag to fire against Pakistan and get some runs ahead of the tough battle ahead.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has been a consistent performer, but the young Delhi lad would look to settle down and get battle ready with a solid knock against Pakistan.

Yuvraj Singh, who made a comeback to world cricket after recovering from cancer with a cameo of 34 runs against New Zealand in the second T20 game in Chennai, also needs to get some more runs under his belt.
